J. Kyle Scoresby was admitted to practice law in California in 1989 and in Arizona in 1990. He has been practicing law for almost 25 years. He began to focus his practice on family law in 1991, and he began his own firm the following year in 1992. His firm is now devoted exclusively to the practice of family law.

J. Kyle Scoresby is a native Arizonan, being born and raised in Mesa. Mr. Scoresby graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona in 1982, and serve a church mission in Santiago, Chile from 1983-1985. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated cum laude in August, 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Mr. Scoresby attended law school at Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, graduating fourth overall in his class of 150 students. He was a member of the law review for two years, serving as Lead Note and Comment Editor during his third and final year of law school. Mr. Scoresby was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and graduated magna cum laude in April, 1989.

After law school, Mr. Scoresby moved to San Diego, California and joined the San Diego branch of the international law firm Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher. He took the California Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in California in December, 1989. Mr. Scoresby also took and passed the Arizona Bar Exam, and was admitted to practice in Arizona in May, 1990. Mr. Scoresby is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in the Southern District of California and in the Arizona District. He was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court in May, 1994.

Mr. Scoresby married his wife, Karen in 1986. The family moved to Arizona in late 1990, and Mr. Scoresby opened his own practice in 1992. Mr. Scoresby and his wife have four children. Mr. Scoresby is a fitness buff, having finished the Boston Marathon and an Ironman Triathlon. He has also completed a total of nine marathons and multiple other running, triathlon and biking events. He enjoys outdoor activities, music, and spending time with family.
